Slovak PM Fico says that the West's strategy to counter Russia after full-scale invasion of Ukraine fails
Pro-Russian Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has said that the West has failed in its strategy to respond to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
He wrote about this in his column for the Pravda newspaper.
"The West, instead of immediately making every effort to achieve a quick ceasefire, even without losing a tithe for Ukraine in early 2022, made a huge mistake," Robert Fico wrote.
He added that Ukraine is "incapable of a significant military counteroffensive and has become completely dependent on Western financial assistance".
Fico once again repeated Russian propaganda narratives about Ukraine's "dependence on the United States" and others.
"Russia also needs its own security guarantees. And I continue to believe that we must return to the recent European rhetoric that the EU and Russia [...] need each other," the prime minister wrote.
It will be recalled that Prime Minister Robert Fico said that Slovakia was against Ukraine's accession to NATO.
