The Southern District Military Court has decided to extend the detention of the Kremlin prisoners until May 3.

This was reported by lawyer Lilia Hemedzhi, according to Crimean Solidarity.

The defence insisted that the reasons for the extension were formal, but the prosecutor pointed out that the defendants could allegedly influence witnesses whose addresses they knew and stressed the severity of the article under which the Crimean Muslims are being tried. The defence objected to this, but the court ignored the objections.

At the court hearing, it was planned to examine the reaction of the Investigative Committee to the results of the inspection of the planting of forbidden literature during the search of the defendants in the case. The prosecutor requested this inspection. During the hearing, the prosecutor presented the decision of the Investigative Committee to refuse to initiate criminal proceedings.

All the defendants are accused of involvement in the activities of the Islamic political party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned in Russia but allowed in Ukraine and other countries.
