More than half of Wagner PMC camp dismantled in Belarus — Belaruski Gayun

More than half of the Wagner PMC camp in Asipovichy, Belarus, has been dismantled.

The Belaruski Gayun monitoring group reported this.

Dismantling began on July 28, 2023. At that time, the camp consisted of about 292 tents, and more than 160 units have been dismantled so far.

The monitoring group assumes that the tents are being dismantled because they turned out to be "unnecessary," as far fewer Wagner PMC fighters arrived in Belarus than expected.

In June 2022, it was reported that 8,000 Wagner mercenaries were to arrive at the base in Asipovichy.

It will be recalled that the Russian political leadership decided to take most of the Wagner mercenaries to Africa.
