Berlin Administrative Court allows the use of Ukrainian symbols on May 8-9 near the demonstration sites

Earlier, the police had issued the ban. The decision of the administrative court is subject to appeal to the court of appeal.

The decision of the court of first instance was reported by Berlin's public broadcasting with reference to the Ukrainian NGO Viche.

Earlier, the police wanted to ban the use of St George's ribbons, Russian flags, military uniforms, and Ukrainian flags in the districts of Berlin where memorial events will take place on May 8 and 9.

After the police published their decision, the organisation decided to challenge it in court. The court ruled that the police's actions were not adequately justified.

The police have the right to appeal against this court ruling.
