Armenia ready to sign peace treaty with Azerbaijan by the end of the year — Prime Minister of Armenia

Armenian Prime Minister, in a speech to the European Council in Strasbourg, says Yerevan is ready to sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan by the end of this year.

Radio Azatutyun reports.

Armenia is ready to sign a peace treaty that will reflect the principles of mutual recognition of each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity and will also provide the opening of transport communications based on the principles of the sovereignty of the countries through which they pass.

The country is also ready to open the Meghri railway, but not as an extraterritorial corridor. At the same time, he fears that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev "may use the issue of the so-called corridor as a pretext to attack Armenia and seize territories."

It will be recalled that Armenia has filed a lawsuit in the International Court of Justice against Azerbaijan.
