Armenia files a lawsuit in the International Court of Justice against Azerbaijan

Armenia has filed a lawsuit in the International Court of Justice against Azerbaijan.

France24 reports.

On October 12, a hearing will be held in The Hague.

Armenia demands Azerbaijan to order the withdrawal of all military and law-enforcement personnel from all civilian establishments in Nagorno-Karabakh.

It also demands Azerbaijan not to take any actions that would lead to the displacement of ethnic Armenians remaining in the region or prevent the "safe and expeditious return" of refugees.

It will be recalled that on September 19, Azerbaijan announced "local anti-terrorist measures" in Nagorno-Karabakh, demanding the complete withdrawal of the Armenian Armed Forces from the region. On September 20, the President of Azerbaijan announced the end of the operation.

Armenia called the operation "ethnic cleansing" against Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The UN mission visited Karabakh on October 1, but did not record any violations against civilians.
