47,000 refugees flee Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia

According to the Armenian government, 47,000 refugees have left Nagorno-Karabakh for Armenia.

This was reported by Radio Azatutyun with reference to the spokesperson of the Armenian Prime Minister Nazeli Baghdasaryan.

The people arrive in the Armenian border town of Kornidzor, where they are sent to registration centres and allocated.

Baghdasaryan also said that only 10% of the newcomers have benefited from state support, with the majority looking for accommodation on their own.

As a reminder, on September 19, Azerbaijan announced "local anti-terrorist measures" in Nagorno-Karabakh.

On September 20, Azerbaijan declared a ceasefire upon the achievement of all the objectives of the operation. On September 21, representatives of Azerbaijan and the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh discussed the reintegration of the region's population.
