US Customs handed over to Ukraine three Scythian swords illegally sent from Russia to the United States

The parcel was detained in September 2022. Similar cargoes with archaeological finds come from the Krasnodar Territory and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine — the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States.
United States customs officials suspected these shipments contained items of Ukrainian origin. Therefore, they turned to Ukraine for an examination.
The Institute of Archeology of Ukraine confirmed that Ukrainian archaeological finds were illegally sent to the United States: Scythian akinakes of the VI-V centuries BC and a polished flint axe of the III millennium BC.
There were about 20 parcels in total. Investigations into other items are ongoing.
