US and Ukraine agree to jointly produce weapons and defence systems

The United States of America and Ukraine have agreed to jointly produce weapons and defence systems, including air defence systems.

This was announced by Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address.

"This is something that was an absolute fantasy until recently. But it will become a reality. We will make it a reality. Everyone who works for the state," the President of Ukraine said.

Zelenskyy did not disclose any details, but he had previously stated that Ukraine was preparing "an industrial basis to produce air defence systems and other necessary things in joint production with the United States".

On September 22, Biden announced a $325 million military aid package.

The United States will provide Ukraine with air defence ammunition, anti-tank weapons, HIMARS missiles and cluster munitions.
