Unidentified object shoots at Polish border guards on border with Belarus

In the first half of June, a bullet hit the car of Polish border guards working on the border with Belarus.
Colonel Arkadiusz Tywoniuk of the Border Guard Service said this at a meeting of the Sejm Subcommittee on Citizenship, Foreigners and Migration.
Although the clashes on the Polish-Belarusian border have been going on for two years, border guards have never been shot at before. Instead, they are pelted with stones on a daily basis.
It is not known what exactly fired the shot. Tywoniuk suggests that it could have been an air gun.
"The object pierces the side window of the vehicle, flew to the other side and broke another window," he explained.
The crisis at the border began in the summer of 2021 after Belarus eased its visa regime for countries from the Middle East and North Africa. The Belarusian regime helped a large number of people from these countries to come to the border with Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. Additional flights were created for this purpose, and the Belarusian secret service often brought migrants to the border. Neighbouring Eastern European countries refused to accept these people, as they believed it would encourage the Belarusian dictator Lukashenka.
