Ukrainian military destroys large Russian landing ship Caesar Kunikov with drones
Kyiv, Ukraine (Svidomi) — The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has announced the destruction of the large Russian landing ship Caesar Kunikov. It was a joint operation of the Armed Forces and the Main Directorate of Intelligence.
At the time of the attack, the ship was in the waters near the temporarily occupied Alupka in Crimea.
The Russians sent a ship for search and rescue operations.
On the morning of February 14, the Russian Ministry of Defence claimed that Russian air defence had allegedly destroyed six drones over the Black Sea.
The Caesar Kunikov is a large Project 775 landing ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Such ships are designed for amphibious assault landings and troop and cargo transfer. They can carry armoured vehicles, including tanks.
