Ukraine wins four medals on the second day of the Invictus Games 2023

On the second day of the Invictus Games 2023, Ukrainians secured four medals.

The Ministry of Veterans' Affairs of Ukraine reported this.

Ukraine won the following medals:

  • a silver medal — Volodymyr Hera in the discus throw in the IF7 category;
  • a gold medal — Mykola Zaritskyi in the shot put in the IF1 category;
  • a bronze medal — Vitalii Borodavka in the 100m dash in the IT7 category;
  • a silver medal — Maksym Dmytrash in the IJ5 double jump.

Oleksandr Makovei took sixth place in the discus throw in the IF8 category with a result of 18.07.

Vadym Maznichenko and Dmytro Kozak, assistant archery coach Oleksandr Zozuliak, and sitting volleyball coach Yurii Zekun ran in the 4x100m relay final.

The Ukrainians also took part in wheelchair rugby against Australia. The game ended with a score of 16-7 in Australia's favour. 

The Ukrainian team also held a training session in wheelchair basketball. 

This year's Invictus Games are taking place in Dusseldorf, Germany.

It will be recalled that Ukraine won six medals on the first day of the Invictus Games 2023.
