Ukraine may temporarily suspend the visa-free regime with Israel
Ukraine considers temporary suspension of visa-free regime with Israel.
Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevhen Korniichuk said this in a comment to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
The decision may be made because of the Rosh Hashanah holiday, which is expected to be celebrated in Uman by about 30,000 pilgrims from Israel.
"The question has been raised about the expediency of deploying a huge number of our officials during the hostilities to ensure the safety of pilgrims," said Yevhen Korniichuk.
He stressed that Ukraine would not be able to guarantee their safety in the event of Russian attacks.
It will be recalled that the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration called on Hasidic pilgrims to refrain from visiting Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, which will take place on September 15-17.
