Ukraine documents kidnapping of about 20,000 children by Russia — Zelenskyy

Ukraine has documented 20,000 cases of the kidnapping of Ukrainian children to the territory of the Russian Federation.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy made the statement.

"This is a terrifying number, but the real one is even higher. Therefore, we need to continue this track. We are ready for further coordination and cooperation," the Ukrainian President said after a conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Zelenskyy noted that Qatar plays a significant mediation role in the return of illegally deported Ukrainian children.

In addition to humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, the leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East. Zelenskyy stressed the importance of unimpeded functioning of corridors for the evacuation of civilians and the supply of humanitarian goods.

It will be recalled that on October 21, Ukraine returned three deported children to the territory under its control.
