Two Russian animated films produced with support from the government win awards at the Animafest animation festival in Zagreb

One film was funded by the state, and the other was created at a state studio.
This is evidenced by the list of winners of the festival, which took place on June 5-10.
Anastasiia Verlynska, the programme director of the Ukrainian animation festival LINOLEUM, was the first to point this out on her Facebook page.
Varya Yakovleva's film Oneluv won the Grand Prix. The Russian Ministry of Culture funded this film, but Yakovleva removed the Ministry's logo from the opening credits of her work.
The animated film Socks for the Star by Olga Titova won the award in the category of Films for Children. This cartoon was created at the state studio Soyuzmultfilm.
Jury member Hisko Hulsing responded to Verlynska's post. He did not know that Oneluv was a Russian film. The organisers concealed this information.
Instead, the festival's artistic director, Daniel Šuljić, claims Yakovleva received funding before the full-scale invasion. And she removed the Ministry's logo because she opposes the Russian regime and had left Russia.
