The US imposes sanctions on 28 foreign companies for threatening the country's security

The United States has imposed sanctions on 28 foreign companies that threaten the country's security. 18 of them were included in the sanctions list because of military cooperation with Russia.

This is stated in a press release from the United States Department of Commerce.

"We will not hesitate to take swift and meaningful action against those who continue seeking to supply and support Putin's illegal and immoral war in Ukraine," said Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security Alan Estevez.

The new trade restrictions were imposed on 11 Chinese companies and five Russian companies, including Device Consulting, Grant Instrument, SMT-iLogic, Streloy, VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation PJSC, and others.

The list also includes organisations from Finland, Germany, Oman, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates.

Most of them are accused of supplying components for the production of drones in Russia.

It will be recalled that Canada has recently expanded its sanctions list against Russia. The list includes 63 natural and legal entities.
