The US Federal Bureau of Investigation detains two people who supplied aircraft equipment to Russia in violation of sanctions

They also repaired components that had been returned to them from Russia. One of these parts had FSB markings on it.

The US Department of Justice reported this.

Kirill Buyanovsky and Douglas Roberston have been doing this since 2020. They circumvented export controls by providing false information in customs declarations. Before the full-scale invasion, the suspects claimed the equipment was allegedly going to Germany. After the start of the full-scale invasion, the men transferred the equipment through Armenia and Cyprus.

They are charged with conspiracy, exporting controlled goods without a license, smuggling goods contrary to US law, and falsifying and failing to file export information. They face up to 20 years in prison.
