The United States imposed sanctions against more than 150 individuals and entities that contribute to Russian aggression against Ukraine
The United States has imposed sanctions on more than 150 individuals and entities that contribute to Russia's aggression against Ukraine. Among them are companies from Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates and China.
The US Department of the Treasury has announced this.
In particular, the restrictions were imposed on a network of four legal entities and nine individuals based in China, the Russian Federation, Hong Kong, and Pakistan. They facilitate the purchase of Chinese-made weapons and technologies in Russia.
Other restrictions apply to several companies from Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, and China. Among the suppliers of electronics and spare parts for the Russian military-industrial complex are companies from the Maldives, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Singapore, and Switzerland.
In particular, the Swiss company Thamestone SA (Thamestone) supplies various electronic products, including electrical connectors, circuits and resistors. Thamestone shipped conventional high-priority goods such as integrated circuits and multilayer ceramic capacitors to Russia.
Dozens of Russian chip and electronics manufacturers were also subject to the restrictions. The sanctions also apply to financial institutions located in Russia; in particular, Expobank, whose main stakeholder is Russian banker Igor Kim, was subject to restrictions.
