The Norwegian Parliament supports a five-year assistance program for Ukraine worth almost EUR 7 billion
The Parliament of the Kingdom of Norway has supported a five-year assistance program for Ukraine worth almost 7 billion euros (75 billion Norwegian kroner) — the parliament's website.
According to the program, Ukraine will receive NOK 15 billion (EUR 1.3 billion) annually from 2023 to 2027 based on current needs, which will be regularly updated.
In 2023, half of these payments will go to military assistance to Ukraine.
The money will also be used for humanitarian activities in Ukraine and neighbouring countries, to support civilian infrastructure and, where possible, for reconstruction.
"I am very pleased that there is such broad support for this program for Ukraine, which will be in place for the next parliament in the next five years. Together, we condemn Russia's war against Ukraine and support the legitimate right of the Ukrainian people to defend themselves," said Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
