The European Parliament adopts a resolution calling on the EU to work on starting negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the bloc

489 MEPs supported the document, 49 abstained, and 36 voted against — the website of the European Parliament.

The document calls for increased support for Ukraine and stricter sanctions against Russia.

In particular, MEPs call on EU member states to increase and accelerate military assistance to Ukraine by providing weapons and substantial political, economic, infrastructure, financial and humanitarian support.

The Parliament also calls for sanctions on companies such as Lukoil and Rosatom, which are still present on the EU market.
