The Chamber of Representatives of the Belgian parliament recognises the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide of Ukrainians

117 deputies out of 150 voted in favor.

The Chamber of Representatives announced this on its Twitter page.

"Recognise the Holodomor, the famine in Ukraine deliberately caused by the Soviet regime in 1932-1933, as a genocide directed against the Ukrainian people," the resolution part of the decision states.

The Chamber of Representatives called on countries that were part of the USSR to open their archives so that researchers could have more data on the Holodomor.
