Switzerland joins Register of Damage Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine

This was reported by the Swiss government.

The Register of Damage is the principal outcome of the 4th Council of Europe Summit, held on 16 and 17 May 2023 in Reykjavik. To date, 37 Council of Europe member states have joined, as have Canada, the United States, Japan and the European Union.

The Council of Europe will soon officially approve Switzerland's membership in the Register of Damages.

The Register will contribute to the restoration of justice and the prosecution of those responsible for crimes. It will also contribute to the political process of rebuilding Ukraine, which Switzerland initiated together with the Ukrainian government at the 2022 Ukraine Recovery Conference in Lugano.
