Sweden to increase production of ammunition for Ukraine
Sweden has signed an agreement with ammunition manufacturer Nammo to increase the production of 155mm artillery ammunition.
This was reported by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).
According to Jonas Lotsne, Director of FMV's Land Systems, this investment is the third step in a major effort to increase artillery ammunition production and ensure continued support for Ukraine.
"We are now taking the next important step to accelerate investment in the industry's production capacity. By doing so, we are shortening delivery times, increasing our ability to support Ukraine and at the same time strengthening the long-term security of artillery ammunition supply in Sweden and the Nordic countries," said Lotsne.
Earlier, Lithuania announced a €200 million long-term assistance package for Ukraine. The country will send ammunition, generators, and detonation systems in January, and in February - M-577 armoured personnel carriers.
