Russians plan to transport part of the animals from Askania-Nova nature reserve, located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, to Crimea
Ukraine, (Svidomi) — Russians are planning to take some animals from the Askania-Nova reserve, located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, to the occupied Crimea, the so-called director of the Crimean zoo "Kazka", Oleg Zubkov, said.
Oleh Zubkov claims that in October 2023, the zoo, which he "heads", and the reserve signed a so-called agreement on exchanging Red Data Book animals. Some animals from Crimea will go to the Kherson reserve, and some from Askania Nova will go to Crimea.
According to the " head’ of the Crimean Zoo, it is about 15 species of animals. Probably, it will be bustards, vultures, alpacas.
Askania Nova is the largest steppe reserve in Europe, home to unique species of animals. It is located on the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region. The reserve's staff is unable to take care of the animals.
