Russians conduct another information operation regarding the defence of Bakhmut

Their goal is to question whether it is worth defending Bakhmut and the authority of the command that makes decisions on the actions of the troops.

Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Maliar reported this.

To achieve this goal, they are taking the following actions:

  • spreading information that President Zelenskyy, Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhnyi, and Ground Forces Commander Syrskyi allegedly have different positions on Bakhmut;
  • discredit Oleksandr Syrskyi personally;
  • claim that the Ukrainian command does not count losses, while the Russian command does.

The Russians want to impose the idea that Bakhmut should not be defended. However, the amount of resources spent on this information operation suggests otherwise.
