Russian shelling kills three and injures 19 civilians over the past day
At night, the Russian army launched a ballistic missile and 22 combat drones at Ukraine. Air defence forces downed 20 of them operating in the Kherson, Sumy, Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions.
Ukrenergo's power stations in the Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions came under attack. Due to the damage to the equipment, over 68,000 consumers in certain districts of the Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions suffered power outages. In the morning some 30,000 people remained without electricity. Power is being restored.
In Nizhyn, Chernihiv region, a ‘shahed’ hit an infrastructure facility and a hostel. Four people were hospitalised. The hostel is not fit for living.
In the Donetsk region, located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine and partially occupied since 2014, the Russians launched 2,947 strikes against Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Kurakhove, Myrnohrad, Novohrodivka, Toretsk, Velyka Novosilka, Raihorodok, Yampil, Berestok, Voznesenka, Hannivka, Illinka, Katerynivka, Memryk, Novodmitrivka and Popasna. Two people were killed, and four others were injured. Twenty-seven residential buildings, utility structures, an educational institution, a grain elevator, and critical infrastructure were damaged.
In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians shelled the Kyrylivka, Volokhivske, Ruska Lozova, Hlushkivka, and Kupiansk communities. Eight civilians were injured. Private houses suffered damage.
In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russians fired 45 times at the Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Novoslobidka, Hlukhivka, Esman, Shalyhyne, Druzhbivka and Seredyna-Buda communities. There are no casualties.
In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians targeted the Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Snovsk and Horodnianka communities with cannon artillery and mortars.
In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, the Russians opened fire on the Kutsurub community. There are no casualties.
In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Antonivka, Sadove, Bilozerka, Dniprovske, Prydniprovske, Poniativka, Beryslav, Liubymivka, Mykhailivka, Dudchany, Novooleksandrivka, Tiahynka, Burhunka, Bruskynske and Kherson came under Russian attack. One civilian was killed, and seven others were injured. Eight multi-storey buildings, 24 private houses and cars were damaged.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, south-central Ukraine, the Russian army shelled the Nikopol, Pokrovsk, Myrove, Marhanets and Chervonohryhorivka communities. Civilian infrastructure, including outbuildings, solar panels, tyre-fitting, cars, gas pipelines and power lines, was damaged. There were no casualties among the civilians.
In the Zaporizhzhia region in the south, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians launched 441 attacks on Mala Tokmachka, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Levadne, Malynivka, Orikhove and Novoandriivka. There were seven reports of residential buildings and infrastructure being destroyed. No casualties among the civilians were reported.
