Russian security forces set up a torture chamber in a school in the temporarily occupied Velyki Kopani in the Kherson region

They are torturing abducted Ukrainian citizens in a secondary school - the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Velyki Kopani is a village on the left bank of the Kherson region. In February 2022, it was occupied by Russians. The front line now runs along the Dnipro River, which flows 25 kilometres from the village.

There is a secondary school in the village. Before the full-scale invasion, about 700 children studied there.

Russian security forces turned it into a torture chamber. Abducted pro-Ukrainian activists are brought there and interrogated in the school's gym. Russians are subjecting Ukrainian citizens to torture.

The total number of Ukrainians abducted by Russia is estimated at tens of thousands. Mostly, Russians kidnap pro-Ukrainian activists and war veterans (2014-2022). However, people who accidentally fell into the hands of Russian security forces also disappear.
