Russian military shell the Kherson region with incendiary munitions
On the night of June 26, Russians used weapons that are prohibited for use against civilians.
The Kherson Regional State Administration reported the shelling.
The Russian army hit residential buildings in the regional centre of Kherson and the neighbouring village of Antonivka. Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure caught fire.
There were no dead or wounded.
In 1980, United Nations member states signed the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons. Protocol III prohibits the use of incendiary weapons against civilian areas. The USSR signed this protocol in 1982. Russia has not renounced these obligations.
