Russian illustrator Anastasia Arkhipova resigns as the Jury President of the Hans Christian Andersen Award —IBBY

The organization said that Arkhipova is "mindful of the perception of the outside world" and is "aware of the importance of IBBY's work and its stature in the world", so she submitted her resignation as the Jury President.

IBBY also reported that Arkhipova was "democratically" elected as the Jury President at the 38th IBBY General Assembly of its Congress in September 2022 in the presence of 42 representatives of IBBY National Sections. And there was no opposition to her nomination, just as there were no objections during the election.

In addition, the organization stated that it "unequivocally" condemns Russia's military aggression against Ukraine and "supports the IBBY Ukrainian National Section."
