For the second time in a month, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu says the Russian military has struck at the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system in Kyiv.
Sergei Shoigu says this at a conference call, Russian edition "RIA Novosti" reports.
The spokesman for the Air Force of Ukraine, Yurii Ihnat, declares on the national telethon that the system is intact.
"Today they [Russians - ed.] write that they destroyed our Patriot. Air defence worked perfectly, both day and night," says Ihnat.
The Russian Ministry of Defence claimed that the first Patriot air defence system was hit by a Kinzhal missile on the night of May 16. On May 18, the US Department of Defence officially confirmed that the system had been damaged, but it had already been repaired.
