Russian attacks kill three, injure eight civilians in Donetsk region
On October 12, Russia targeted Ukrainian cities with 28 Shahed combat UAVs. As a result of the air battle, Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces downed 24 enemy combat UAVs in the Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. Another 2 drones lost radar contact (went down).
In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, Russian troops targeted Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Kurakhove, Myrnohrad, Chasiv Yar, Velyka Novosilka, Nelipivka, Bohoiavlenka, Ivanopillia, Piskunivka, Pleshchiivka and Yasna Poliana. The Russians killed three civilians in Bohoiavlenka and Ivanopillia with artillery and MLRS and wounded eight others. The shelling damaged or destroyed residential buildings, a dentist's office, critical infrastructure, an administrative building, a company, non-residential buildings and vehicles.
In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians shelled Kharkiv, Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, Cherkasy Lozova and Lozova, Tymofiivka, Kozacha Lopan, Shyikivka and Kurylivka with artillery, aircraft and UAVs. As a result of the attacks, two civilians died and 9 others were injured in the area. Houses and outbuildings were destroyed.
In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Russia shelled Kherson, Sadove, Antonivka, Chornobaivka, Bilozerka, Komyshany, Molodizhne, Kizomys, Stanislav, Shyroka Balka, Oleksandrivka, Mykilske, Beryslav, Dudchany, Sablukivka, Tomaryne, Novooleksandrivka, Shliakhove, Zmiivka, Chervonyi Maiak, Kozatske and Vesele. Four civilians were injured as a result of the Russian aggression. A medical facility, an administrative building, a cell site, multi-storey and private houses, a gas pipeline, outbuildings, warehouses and private cars were damaged or destroyed.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians attacked Zaporizhzhia, Tavriiske, Yurkivka, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Lobkove, Prymorske, Novoandriivka, Levadne and Malynivka with UAVs, aircraft, MLRS and artillery. Women aged 55 and 22 and an 11-year-old girl were injured as a result of enemy shelling of Zaporizhzhia. Infrastructure and residential buildings were damaged or destroyed as a result of the attacks.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, south-central Ukraine, the Russian army shelled Dnipro, Nikopol and the communities of Myrove, Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets with artillery and UAVs. The shelling destroyed or damaged private houses, outbuildings, power lines and vehicles. No casualties were reported.
In the Mykolaiv region, in southern Ukraine, Russia launched UAV attacks on the communities of Snihurivka and Kutsurub. One farm was damaged as a result of the Russian aggression. No casualties were reported.
In the Chernihiv region, which borders Belarus and Russia to the north, Russian troops shelled settlements in the communities of Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Snovske and Horodnianka with artillery, mortars and UAVs. There is no information on damage or casualties.
In the Sumy region, which borders Russia to the north, Russia attacked the communities of Sumy, Mykolaivka, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Myropillia, Krasnopillia and Shalyhyne with guided missiles, UAVs and artillery. One civilian was injured in a rocket attack on Sumy. No damage was reported.
In the almost entirely Russian-occupied Luhansk region, the Russian army attacked Hrekivka, Makiivka, Balka Zhuravka and Bilohorivka with artillery, MLRS and UAVs. There were no reports of casualties or damage.
