Polish Sejm adopts resolution to commemorate the victims of the Volyn tragedy

On the 80th anniversary of the Volyn tragedy, the Polish Sejm unanimously adopted a resolution to honour the victims.

This is reported by Onet.

"Polish-Ukrainian reconciliation, which has been built over the years by representatives of both peoples, should also include acknowledgement of guilt and commemoration of those who died in World War II," the resolution says.

The vote was attended by 440 MPs, who all voted in favour.

"It is necessary to exhume, bury and honour the memory of all victims of the genocide in Eastern Cress," the resolution added.

As a reminder, on July 9, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Andrzej Duda commemorated the victims of World War II and the 80th anniversary of the Volyn tragedy at the Lutsk Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
