Polish farmers stop protesting at Shehyni-Medyka border crossing point

Polish farmers have agreed to stop protesting at the Shehyni-Medyka border crossing point with Ukraine.

This was announced by the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy Michał Kołodziejczak on his page in X.

The farmers agreed to unblock the border in exchange for the fastest possible fulfilment of three requirements:

  • subsidies for the purchase of corn
  • maintaining the agricultural tax at this year's level;
  • extension of liquidity loans.

The vice minister added that after the New Year, the ministry will hold talks with farmers to work out a joint solution.
