On the night of 22 June, the Chonhar road bridge was damaged
The explosion caused two holes in the bridge.
This was reported by the head of the temporary occupation administration of Qirim Sergey Aksyonov.
The Chonhar road bridge connects the temporarily occupied Qirim and the Kherson region. There is also a railway bridge next to it.
The mainland of Ukraine and Qirim are connected not only by these bridges. You can also get to Qirim through the Perekop Isthmus.
The explosion caused a hole in the Chonhar bridge, similar to those caused by missile attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Antonivskyi bridge across the Dnipro. These attacks, which took place in the summer of 2022, prevented the Russians from providing logistical support to their group on the right bank of the Kherson region. Eventually, in November 2022, the Ukrainian Armed Forces de-occupied the territory.
Currently, the Russians have blocked traffic on the Chonhar road bridge and are assessing the level of damage. The so-called "old" road bridge, located near the main bridge, was also damaged.
