On January 20, the US Treasury Department decided to recognise the Russian PMC Wagner as international criminal information.

This was announced by John Kirby, Strategic Communications Coordinator of the US National Security Council, during a briefing.

"These actions recognize the transcontinental threat posed by Wagner, in particular because of its ongoing pattern of serious criminal activity," Kirby said.

According to him, the US Treasury Department will impose further sanctions on the company next week.
