NACP removes OTP Bank from the list of international war sponsors

The National Agency for Corruption Prevention has completely removed Hungary's OTP Bank from the list of international war sponsors.

The agency announces in a statement.

The agency reports that the bank has made a number of commitments regarding its future plans for the Russian market.

"The NACP expects the bank to fulfil the agreement without delay," the agency says.

In this way, the NACP is seeking to get Hungary to unblock €500 million from the EU military fund for Ukraine.

It will be recalled that in September, the NACP suspended the status of international war sponsors for the Hungarian OTP Bank. The Hungarian Foreign Ministry said that the exclusion of the OTP Bank from the list of international sponsors of war was not a "significant change", and the country would not contribute to further EU funding of arms supplies to Ukraine.
