Marianna Budanova, wife of Ukrainian intelligence chief, may have been poisoned

Marianna Budanova, the wife of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, has been diagnosed with heavy metal poisoning.

Babel reports, citing its own intelligence sources.

These substances are not used in any way in everyday life or military affairs. Their presence may indicate a deliberate attempt to poison a particular person,

the sources said.

The woman is currently in hospital. A possible murder attempt is under investigation.

The journalists' sources also confirm that several assassination attempts have been made against Kyrylo Budanov since the start of the full-scale invasion.

Earlier, Kyrylo Budanov said that his wife lived with him in his office, although she did not work for the DIU.

The information was confirmed by the DIU representative Andrii Yusov in a comment to Radio Liberty.Marianna Budanova is already finishing her medical treatment.
