Kyrylo Budanov: Two Tu-22s were destroyed as a result of strikes on Shaikovka and Soltsy airfields

The drone strikes on the airfields were launched from the territory of the Russian Federation, but the Main Intelligence Directorate does not take responsibility for these actions. 

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said this in an interview with Radio Liberty. 

"We are well aware of all these people who ultimately carried out all this. It is clear that we have some kind of communication with these people," Budanov said. 

We are talking about the strike on 19 August on the Soltsy airfield and the strike on August 21 on the Shaykovka airfield. 

The drones also damaged two more Tu-22s, but the Russians can repair them, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate explained.
