Israeli Prime Minister calls on Hasidim to refrain from travelling to Uman

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on Hasidic Jews to stop travelling to Uman in Ukraine.

The Times of Israel reported this.

This year's Rosh Hashanah holiday will be held from September 15 to 17.

"Israeli citizens travelling to Ukraine must take personal responsibility for their trips," Netanyahu said at a Cabinet of Ministers' meeting.

He said that there are not enough shelters in Uman to protect pilgrims.

At the same time, the government has allocated 4 million shekels to help those who are going to travel to Ukraine.

It will be recalled that in early August, the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration called on Hasidic pilgrims to refrain from visiting Uman.
