Russians planned to land on the islands near Kherson.
Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Centre of the Southern Defense Forces, announced this on the telethon.
About 20 Russians were eliminated along with the boats.
The Russian military continues to try to establish control over the islands in the Dnipro delta, but has not yet succeeded.
