In 2022, Russia exported six million tonnes of grain from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine

To transport the grain, the Russians used cargo ships that passed through Türkiye to the ports of Syria, Israel, Iran, Georgia, and Lebanon.

This is stated in a US report on the impact of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on food security.

The report states that the conclusions about the theft of Ukrainian grain are based on satellite imagery and data from open sources.

It will be recalled that the Government of India is negotiating with Russia to import wheat at a reduced price. Russia may offer India a discount of $25 to $40 per tonne. This will ensure that the cost of wheat will be significantly lower than local prices.
