History remembers well what happens when you seek compromises with the aggressor — Ukraine's response to the Slovak prime minister's calls to "normalise" relations with Russia

Ukraine's Ambassador to Slovakia, Myroslav Kastran, has responded to an article by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, in which he calls the West's strategy for Russia's war against Ukraine a failure and calls for "normalisation" of relations with Russia.

Kastran wrote about this on his Facebook page.

"Russia has not only violated international law but also resorted to the bloodiest armed, unfair, unprovoked and unjustified aggression on the European continent since World War II," said the Ukrainian Ambassador to Slovakia.

Myroslav Kastran said that Russia launched its aggression first against Georgia and then against Ukraine after the two countries were not promised NATO membership in 2008.

"We should not use the words 'not everything is so clear' to hide things that are obvious and that we will continue to call by their proper names," the Ukrainian ambassador said.

It will be recalled that Slovakian Prime Minister Fico said that the West's strategy of countering Russia after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine has failed.
