Freedom of Russia Legion announces the goals of its raid on the Belgorod region of Russia
The Freedom of Russia Legion has announced three goals they wanted to achieve during a joint raid with the Russian Volunteer Corps in the Belgorod region of RF.
They published a message on their Telegram channel.
In their words, the purpose of the so-called "peacekeeping operation" in the Belgorod region was:
"creating a demilitarised zone" between Russia and Ukraine;
destruction of "security forces serving the Putin regime";
demonstrating to the people of Russia that "it is possible to fight the regime".
The Russians allegedly achieved these goals of the operation.
The Russian volunteers also added that on May 23, they destroyed a motorised rifle company of the Russian Armed Forces and several pieces of equipment.
A little earlier, the authorities of the Belgorod region announced that they had cancelled the "counter-terrorist operation regime".
As a reminder, the Freedom of Russia Legion and the Russian Volunteer Corps raided the Belgorod region. They stated that they were returning to the territory of the Russian Federation to fight "for freedom from the authorities".
Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate confirmed that the Russians were conducting an operation to create a 'security strip' to protect Ukrainian civilians. This operation was carried out exclusively by Russian citizens.
