Russian volunteers fighting for Ukraine report crossing the border with Russia and fighting "for the freedom of Russia"

On the morning of May 22, Russian volunteers of the Freedom of Russia Legion and the Russian Volunteer Corps, who fought on the side of Ukraine, announced their return to the territory of the Russian Federation to fight for freedom from the government. The soldiers published such statements on their Telegram channels.

Soldiers of the Russian Volunteer Corps published a video near the signposts of Bezlyudovka, Churovichi, and Lyubimovka. These are border settlements in the Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk regions of the Russian Federation. Local authorities have not commented on these statements.

"We are Russians like you. The only difference between us is that we did not want to justify the actions of the criminals in power but took up arms to defend our freedom and yours. It's time to put an end to the Kremlin's dictatorship. The Legion is coming home," the Freedom of Russia Legion stated.

The legion urged residents of the Russian border regions to stay at home and not to resist.
