The ban will come into force on May 2 and will last until June5, 2023.
In addition, the EU executive confirmed the provision of financial support to farmers in five EU member states, with the decision to come later.
On April 28, the European Commission reached an agreement with Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, and Hungary on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine.
Earlier it became known that Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Bulgaria had stopped importing agricultural products from Ukraine. The countries reported problems with market regulation, as well as the fact that products from Ukraine were not up to European standards.
