DIU publishes plan of how Russia disrupted the grain deal

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has obtained a presentation prepared by the Russian military for the Kremlin.

The document was published on the DIU's website.

The Chief Navigator of the Russian Navy, Rear Admiral Eduard Vuyk, presented it. He identified several stages of how Russia deliberately complicated grain exports. Initially, Ukraine managed to export more than 4 million tonnes of agricultural products, but later, due to Russian actions, this number dropped to 1 million tonnes per month.

Vuyk acknowledges that the Russians also deliberately did not register ships participating in the Grain from Ukraine initiative.

Under this programme, Ukraine, together with the World Food Programme, supplied agricultural products to African countries for free.

Ultimately, Russian actions led to the end of the agreement on July 17, 2023.
