Chechen militants who arrived in Türkiye as "rescuers" may try to sneak into Moldova — NSDC Secretary Danilov

Oleksii Danilov suggests that Russia wants to use these individuals to destabilize the situation in Moldova.

He stated this during the telethon.

"We are monitoring this situation very closely to prevent these "rescuers" from ending up in Chișinău. We know their names. We have been tracking them very closely at the time. They have had a personal task since February 24," Danilov said.

It will be recalled that on February 9, it became known about the arrival of Daniil Martynov in Türkiye. He is a Chechen leader whom the SBU suspects of war crimes in Ukraine. He allegedly headed a group of Russian rescuers responding to the aftermath of the earthquake in Türkiye.

On March 1, 2022, Ukrainska Pravda published the recordings of the conversations between Martynov and Ramzan Kadyrov. Allegedly, this recording was made by the FSB and handed over to Ukrainian intelligence. They discussed plans to capture Kyiv and kill Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

On March 5, 2022, Martynov led the seizure of the Borodianka psychoneurological boarding school with a geriatric department. The Chechens used this health care facility as a combat position.

After that, in June 2022, it became known that Martynov would be appointed as an adviser to the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

On February 9, 2023, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he had handed over the intercepted Russian plan to destabilize Moldova to the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu.

On February 10, the Prime Minister of Moldova, Natalia Gavrilița, resigned. Sandu offered this position to Dorin Recean, head of the National Security Council of Moldova. In 2012-2015, he headed the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country.
