The Head of the Delegation of the EU to Ukraine Maasikas: the EU is waiting for Ukraine to appoint of the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO)

This appointment is technically the simplest of the EU recommendations, noted Matti Maasikas.

He believes that it is necessary to use Russian assets that were confiscated by member countries for the benefit of Ukraine. 

At the same time, Maasikas admits that it will be difficult to implement in practice due to different legislation. 

All but one of the EU countries were of the opinion that Ukraine should be a member of the EU. This contributed to the granting of candidate status, the representative believes.
