Turkey released the Russian ship "Zhibek Zholy" carrying stolen Ukrainian grain, despite the appeal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

The Russian ship "Zhibek Zholy" tried to transport stolen grain from the temporarily occupied Berdyansk to the Turkish port of Karasu. Thanks to the intervention of Ukraine, the vessel was detained. In addition, a request was sent to the Turkish side to seize the vessel and cargo.

However, on the evening of July 6, the ship with the grain was released.

"The Ukrainian side appeals to the Turkish side with an urgent request to conduct an investigation into the situation and provide a comprehensive answer to the requests of the authorities of Ukraine, as well as to prevent similar cases in the future by all means," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Ukraine summoned Turkey's ambassador to seek clarification.
