Ukraine and Denmark sign agreement on long-term support in the security sector
Lviv, Ukraine (Svidomi) — The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, have signed a security agreement, according to Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Denmark became the first non-G7 country to sign the security agreement.
"A strong document that confirms Denmark's unwavering support for our people... Denmark will also support efforts to ensure the integral potential of the F-16 through the aviation coalition: providing fighters, ammunition, simulators, training, maintenance," the Ukrainian president said.
Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, added that the Danish Fund has already allocated €8.5 billion to support Ukraine in 2023-2028.
Denmark will continue to work with the city of Mykolaiv and the Mykolaiv region to support their reconstruction, resilience and reforms.
In case of a future armed attack on Ukraine by Russia, the agreement with Denmark provides for consultations within 24 hours to determine the appropriate next steps.
It will be recalled that France, Germany and the United Kingdom signed similar agreements with Ukraine earlier.
